SCIOinspire launches Subro-Accelerator™
Novel technology-enabled solution helps health plans identify claims they should not pay – before paying them
Hartford, CT – Nov. 25, 2008 – SCIOinspire, Corp., a premier provider of cost-management services for the healthcare community, today announced the official launch of Subro-Accelerator™, a technology-enabled business services solution that enables health plans to identify – and halt payment of – other party liability (OPL) claims before reimbursement checks are cut. Subro-Accelerator is available as an outsourced, co-sourced or in-sourced solution.
Traditionally, health plans have employed a “pay-and-pursue” approach to coordination of benefits (COB) and subrogation services. In the process, they often lose 35-50% of each inappropriately paid dollar due to attorney fees, repayment compromises negotiated with providers and percentages awarded to vendors providing recovery services. Subro-Accelerator, developed by SOCRATES, INC., a SCIOinspire company, allows health plans to review and filter adjudicated claims prior to payment to determine which should rightfully be covered by another insurer. The solution can be highly customized based on the policies set by health plans and payers and state regulations.

In addition, the firm can provide Subro-Accelerator as a completely outsourced solution, as a “co-sourced” solution with some functions retained by the client and others managed by SCIOinspire, or as an in-sourced tool embedded with other client applications.
